1964 - This ident is an extension of the BBC-tv logo, the ident displayed a black and white image of the globe on a white background, this is because colour tv hasn't been invented yet.
1966 - The BBC globe logo remained, however, a 'watch strap' was added around it. The BBC have kept the globe as a logo because they want to show everyone that their company is worldwide and is trustworthy.
1969 - 1969 introduced the first colour ident, the ident showed a blue and black globe rotating with a mirror image of the world in the background.
1972 - This is when BBC made a slight change to their ident. the colour scheme and logo stayed the same, they just change the font to italic.
1978 - A new blue and yellow colour was added to the ident, using new electronics. As well as that the BBC one logo was changed to a bold font
1981 - The yellow from the previous ident changed to a free, also the BBC One font changed to a double line version, which was similar to BBC 2 logo at the time
1985 - This is when BBC abandoned the mirror image in the background. BBC introduced COW, Computer Originated World, it was the first time BBC One used a computer generated image instead of mechanical models
1991 - The COW globe was replaced with a new on screen image. Like previous indents, it showed reflections of the world swirling around the globe
1997 - This is when BBC introduced a red a yellow globe, which was displayed on a ballon , which was filmed flying ove different British locations.
